About project:

InterEdu successfully implemented the international project Erasmus + Program Mobility of Youth Workers (KA153) “SaiL ON-line”, aimed at strengthening AI literacy, critical thinking, and responsible use of digital technologies among youth workers and youth organisations across Europe.

The project addressed the growing impact of artificial intelligence on education, youth work, and society, while also responding to challenges related to limited understanding of AI, ethical concerns, data protection, security, and the changing nature of work. By focusing on awareness and practical skills, the project supported informed and responsible engagement with AI technologies.

Project Implementation

The core activity of the project was a five-day international mobility, bringing together youth workers, facilitators, mentors, and volunteers from 12 European countries. The programme focused on digital topics and artificial intelligence, using non-formal and informal learning methods to ensure active participation and meaningful learning.

Participants engaged in:

  • World café discussions and group dialogues on AI and youth work
  • Interactive workshops and mixed international group work
  • Experiential and experimental learning activities related to real-life AI use
  • Mentoring and peer-learning sessions with experienced practitioners

These methods encouraged exchange of perspectives, critical reflection, and collaborative problem-solving in an international and intercultural setting.

Learning Process and Recognition

One month prior to the mobility, an online preparatory meeting was organised to introduce participants, align expectations, and identify key topics and concerns. During the mobility, digital tools supported collaboration and knowledge sharing. After the mobility, participants continued to receive mentorship and follow-up support, strengthening the sustainability of learning outcomes.

All participants’ learning experiences were formally recognised through Youthpass certificates.

Target Group

The project involved youth workers, volunteers, facilitators, and mentors aged 18+, with a minimum B2 level of English. All participants were actively engaged in youth work and connected to partner organisations in their respective countries.

Results and Impact

The project achieved significant results by:

  • Improving participants’ understanding of AI opportunities, risks, and limitations
  • Strengthening ethical awareness and critical thinking related to AI use
  • Enhancing digital competences and confidence in applying AI tools in youth work
  • Supporting international cooperation and exchange of best practices

By equipping youth workers with practical knowledge and tools, the project contributes to a long-term positive impact on youth organisations and the young people they support. Beyond its immediate outcomes, the project fostered a culture of continuous learning, adaptation, and responsible digital transformation across participating organisations.
